Some time ago, those were the first words spoken by a small program in Bell Laboratories. It was an experiment, testing the digital waters in a tiny boat written in the earliest form of the C programming language.
Some time ago, I was a freelance writer whose time fell victim to day-job demands. While I loved the teaching gig that kept me too busy, I hated the ache in my hands that kept reminding me that there were interesting things to think about and write about. It's a physical reaction; those of you who know the value of a finely crafted turn of phrase and the satisfaction of finding the right way to turn it know the restlessness that won't release until you find it.
So this is my hello, world experiment. A bit of test output because it's about time to feed the word beast. Besides, I'm probably not sleeping.
